The penthouse occupies the fifth floor of a converted factory in Old Street. 360° terrace access wraps the space with skyline views. Smart lighting runs on 256 RGB presets, letting you set the room to your brand colours, shift from daylight warmth to evening atmosphere, or move between moods as the programme changes. The 3.5 m ceiling height gives the room a sense of destination that lower-ceilinged venues cannot replicate.
This is not a hotel ballroom. There is a strong sense of privacy on arrival and no fluorescent-lit corridor between the lift and the room. Guests arrive through the building entrance, take the lift up, and step directly into the event space. The experience begins at the door.
Why this space works for Events
The goods lift handles everything an event build requires, from staging and floristry to AV equipment, catering supplies, and furniture. Early access from 7 am is available as an add-on for complex set-builds. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher, and preparation surfaces, so it supports professional catering service rather than simple reheating.
The terrace transforms a drinks reception. 35 m² of private outdoor space with unobstructed views across the London skyline. Modular outdoor furniture is provided. The terrace connects directly to the main event space through wide openings, so guests move between inside and outside without bottlenecks. At golden hour, the terrace is the room.
Practical information
Capacity: 30 people seated comfortably or up to 50 standing. Boardroom and dining layouts run at lower operational capacities depending on the table plan, seating style, and service requirements. At 30 seated, the room feels full without feeling crowded, and there is space to move between tables and for service to operate without disruption. At 50 standing, the terrace absorbs overflow naturally.
Standard hire runs until 10 pm. Music and amplified sound should be kept at a considerate level after that time, as the building is residential above the penthouse floor. Late checkout is available at £120 per hour for events that require additional pack-down or wrap time. The building remains accessible.
Caterers, AV suppliers, florists, and event production teams access the space via the goods lift from ground level. The service entrance is separate from the guest entrance. Deliveries can arrive from the morning of the event. A logistics brief with access instructions, timings, and supplier protocol is shared with every confirmed booking.

Yes. You are free to use any caterer. The kitchen is fully equipped for professional food preparation and service, with oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher, preparation surfaces, and tableware. A catering liaison add-on is available for teams who would like the on-site coordinator to manage delivery schedules and kitchen access.
The space is equipped with 8 ceiling speakers on a dedicated mixing desk with independent zone control. A Bose S1 Pro portable speaker and Shure SM58 microphone are included. The system supports background music, DJ sets at a moderate level, speeches, and presentations. For events requiring a higher-output PA, external systems can be brought in.
Standard hire ends at 10 pm. Late checkout is available at £120 per hour, subject to availability. Music levels should be reduced after 10 pm as the building includes residential units on higher floors. The building itself remains accessible for pack-down and departures.
Yes. Flowers, signage, banners, table settings, branded materials, and temporary installations are welcome. The brick walls, concrete columns, and steel beams are structural and cannot be drilled or permanently modified. Adhesive fixings and freestanding structures work well within the space. A decor brief is provided at booking to clarify what is and is not permitted.
The terrace is an open-air outdoor space. It is not heated, but it is sheltered on two sides by the building structure. For cooler evenings, blanket service and portable heater hire can be arranged through the on-site coordinator. The terrace is most popular for spring, summer, and early autumn events.
A Bose S1 Pro portable speaker, Shure SM58 vocal microphone, and reading desk are available as an add-on through the Presentation & Workshop Pack. The pack also includes RGB LED panels for branded accent lighting. The venue's built-in 8-zone ceiling speaker system is included with the hire.
